I went to the Smoky Mountains for a week in the Spring of 2011 with my son, daughter-in-law and granddaughter. Although I spent most of my time relaxing in our cabin and enjoying the baby, I did take a drive to Cataloochee, N.C. in a remote area of the National Park. It was a fun drive and a beautiful valley. Cataloochee is no more, but the ghosts of this old North Carolina town are ever present.
