We are driving to Alexandria, where we will be staying.  Alexandria is a great town on its own.  Lots of history and convenient to the District and other places of interest. 

We already have our Metro tickets and our room reserved.  Now all we have to do is hope the weather isn't too bad.  Right now it looks like low 80's with rain off and on.
